Despicable Me 3 Cast: Who Voices Every Character
Steve Carell returns for a double role in Despicable Me 3, voicing both Gru and his long-lost twin brother, Dru. Released on June 30, 2017, by Illumination Entertainment, the film brought back most of the franchise’s regulars while adding a few new names to the credits, including Trey Parker as the film’s flashy new villain.
Main Voice Cast
Steve Carell as Gru and Dru. Carell plays double duty here. Gru is still the reformed supervillain trying to balance family life with occasional secret-agent work. Dru, his twin brother, grew up wealthy in Freedonia and has spent his life hoping to live up to their father’s villainous legacy. Carell gives Dru a lighter, more excitable voice than Gru’s, so the two never blur together even in scenes where they’re talking to each other.
Kristen Wiig as Lucy Wilde. Wiig returns as Gru’s wife, a former Anti-Villain League agent now adjusting to life as a stepmother to Margo, Edith, and Agnes.
Miranda Cosgrove as Margo. The eldest of the three girls, now navigating being a teenager in a house full of chaos, minions, and international espionage.
Dana Gaier as Edith. The middle daughter, still the scrappiest and most mischievous of the three.
Nev Scharrel as Agnes. The youngest, driven in this installment by her hunt for a real unicorn.
Trey Parker as Balthazar Bratt. Best known as one half of the South Park creative team, Parker voices the film’s antagonist: a washed-up 1980s child star who never got over losing his TV show and has decided the world owes him a comeback, villain-style.
Steve Coogan as Silas Ramsbottom. The outgoing head of the Anti-Villain League.
Julie Andrews as Marlena Gru. Gru’s mother makes another appearance, still delivering the dry, faintly disapproving commentary fans expect from her.
Jenny Slate as Valerie Da Vinci. The AVL’s new director, who fires Gru early in the film.
Pierre Coffin as the Minions. Coffin, who co-directed the film, also voices the Minions, as he has throughout the series.
